Harper is a young girl who grew up in a special town, a town called Linbridge. What’s so special about this town? Well, it might be the simple fact that most of its residents are vampires. They aren’t the bloodthirsty type though. They only want to live in peaceful harmony with the humans surrounding them. Of course, no one dares to defy the rules that the vampires have placed over the town.
When Harper’s eighteenth birthday comes, it comes with the chance to become a protected or an unclaimed. The protected are well taken care of by their vampire protectors while the unclaimed are fair game for whatever goes bump in the night.
A week before her birthday her current protector, Finnick, rejects his claim to continue being her protector. Harper’s whole world changes in an instant, but it’s not all bad. She meets a few new friends. There’s a connection she has with them, one that she can’t exactly explain. Along with the new friends, she is reunited with an old one, Alex. He’s one of the unclaimed.
Just when things seem to be at their best, everything once again crumbles down around Harper. Lies are uncovered, and some truths are revealed. There’s a bigger picture to Harper’s connection with her newest friends. They aren’t what they seem. In fact, they aren’t even human. They’re vampires, part of a vampire clan to be precise and they hunt down other vampires who break the laws of their kind.
Harper soon falls for one of the clan members, but it all comes unraveled with the sudden appearance of an old flame. Clara has held the clan's hearts for centuries.
Will Clara’s past with the clan destroy everything Harper has or will another threat take her life away? Can love prevail or will it only destroy her more?
Harper may run, but she won’t be able to hide forever.

Bitten The Vampires of Linbridge Book 1 eBook Raven K Asher

First off I want to say how much I really wanted to love this story but alas this reverse harem left me very disappointed. What I liked about the book was the concept: vampires have to claim humans in order to protect them from other vampires that have no regard for humans except as a tasty snack. What this story fell short on is that to me it felt like the bare bones of the book, meaning that there was a severe lack of world and character building. The pacing of the book annoyed me and I kept reading hoping it would change or make sense. The main character, Harper became insufferable and I never hated a main character before. All of a sudden she was in love, then pissed off and hated the guy, slept with someone else and literally the very next day was in love with the original guy again. There was no tension or suspense. They told her you are the one we are looking for and she is like OK and followed along.

Like I said I wanted to love this book because I love reverse harems but sadly I was disappointed.

Bitten The Vampires of Linbridge Book 1 eBook Raven K Asher Reviews

This is written by one of my favorite authors Raven K. Asher. It is about vampires which I love to read about. The other reason I love this book so much I feel like I am living the story instead of just reading it and it is a wonderful start to a new series and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves vampire stories.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It's a creative story, but I wish the author had done a better job of explaining things. There's no real backstory for anyone or plot descriptions. I was lost as to where this was taking place and why some things were important. I need more information on the world, characters, and the "bad guys" and then I think we've got something awesome!

What the crap? Who wrote this a twelve year old girl? Seriously!!!! She sleeps with one guy because another hurt her in the spam of a couple of hours. Not once but twice. Who does that? Then she tells Ivan that she can't face him and does not want to talk or see him and with a couple of hours she is on the bed with him trying to have sex with him. WTF!!!! Why is she so wishy washy? This is really a poorly written book. I think if Harpers character would have been written better and not so back and forth then this book would have been good. It is a good concept just poorly executed. I could not even finish this book it was so bad.
This story got a 2 star only because I feel there was so much potential here but sadly the book is just too poorly thought out and written to enjoy. I made it to 37% before I just had to stop. There is no world building, no character building and no lead in to the story. We are thrown into a chaotic mess of a plot where people are so randomly back and forth and doing a complete 180 that you're left with whiplash. There's no fleshing out characters or their thoughts or feelings, it is just one moment this character loves this person, the next they hate them and then within a few hours or so we're back to loving them. It's just really ridiculous and leaves you in mourning for the wonderful book this could have been.
I love this little known author and was excited for a new series! The concept of this book was not mainstream, I've only read one other series similar. Vampires that don't always sparkle are great, but I love that they mostly have humanity still. The plot development and twists had me binge reading entirely too late at night/morning. I would make note that this is a reverse harem book. As it's a really popular genre right now, the author should definitely make note of that in the description. If you enjoyed Jane Washington, Tamara White, Lane Whitt, or C.L. Stone, then Raven K. Asher should be on your tbr list. I can't wait for the sequel to this as the plot develops further. Five glittery stars!
If you're a fan of the reverse harem genre, I definitely recommend this book. I can't wait for the next installment of this series!! However, if cliffhangers are a pet peeve of yours, you may want to wait before diving into this series. #ihatecliffhangers. Now, I'm a reading enthusiast. I read simply because I enjoy the actual story and I'm not here to nit-pick about grammar or punctuation.

I enjoyed this book immensely dispite the cliffhanger ending. I'm a big fan of paranormal, so the vampire saga is right up my alley, and the RH is just the cherry on top!! Harper lives in a town where people are either protected by a vampire, or left unclaimed and unprotected. (This was a refreshing setting for a vampire book 😀). When she turns eighteen her protector kicks her to the curb by rejecting his claim. Betrayed and caste aside, she becomes friends with the town newcomers. Erik, Ivan, and James believe that Harper is their destined female, meant to be a part of their clan, but an old flame returns 😈 and puts everything into question. In the end Harper doesn't know who she can trust...with her life, or her heart.💔
First you should know that this is the first book in a series and the ending is a cliffhanger. I enjoyed this story but I did feel that the characters were not really well developed. Harper keeps getting betrayed by guys and then forgiving them practically instantly even though she says she won't. Then you have the vampires that act like teenage boys even though they have been alive for over 2,000 years. Although I am enjoying this story and I am curious to see what happens, I do find this story in need of work. Still it is enjoyable, and I do recommend you read this book if you like reverse-harems.
